Drum Tracks in sequencer mode - so I think the way the Kordbot is set up, the MemPads are mapped to MIDI notes and the keyboard is mapped to the MemPads, not to MIDI notes. I presume this is to facilitate the working of the mixer which then controls each virtual drum track by scaling the velocity. However, the sequencer records MIDI events, not MemPad events, so if you take your sequence to a different sound source you can’t edit the drum voices to play back correctly on a different drum channel. It also means that if you ever change the notes assigned to the the MemPads the drum mixer no longer works unless you deleted and re-entered the notes for that instrument as you did so.
Perhaps this is the best way to implement things but it tripped me up when I took a pattern from one DAW to another. I guess you can overcome it by using drum maps on the MIDI sound source (if available).
If you are going to have the downside of being constrained to twelve pads and voices, I would prefer that it is the MemPad events that are recorded like in a ChordMem track. Alternatively, if you have to put up with the downside of the sequencer recording MIDI events and hence not be able to edit drum voice assignments post-recording, I think I would prefer that you could record any MIDI note from the keyboard in addition to the pads so you could have more complex rhythm parts.
