I wanted to check in how your experience is with syncing the SP-2400 by external gear. In my specific case, I use a multi-clock that gets started by the audio in with a 16th trigger from Ableton Live. The SP starts immediately, but the tempo goes shaky for 0.2 BPM. Do you have any ideas what the issue could be? Also, do people feel the groove is different when it gets synced only for start and stop via MIDI? Thank you.
what is your multiclocki?
and what i/o does it have?
It is this one
I tried the Multiclock also in Internal Mode and i also tried a different Sequencer (Beatstep Pro) to see if the problem comes from the Multiclock but the problem remains and i talked to another Sp2400 owner and he has the same issue. It just jitters 0.2 bpm somehow.
are you saying you just see the numbers on the tempo readout on the oled display jumping around, or you actually measure jitter?
Just the numbers jumping around.
yeah you should find the clock pretty tight, and you have a good sync device.
the slight jumping of the number is purely UI and the way it’s constantly counting it and showing it on screen, it’s either counting too many times per period or not quite enough.
But this is on the ui side and not actually affecting the sync.. We’ve had this topic come up before.
leave it running a few hours or over night, if it’s still locked when you come back to it, you have your answer!
