S2400 Firmware Update May '26

2026-05-22 Update

S2400_20260522.upd

This update is mainly bug fixes and stability improvements.

A lot of these came from forum reports. Thank you to everyone who posted clear examples and followed up with extra detail.

Fixes

  • Fixed Loop/Slice looping turning itself back on after repeated pad hits. (forum t/11870, thanks @PitchItDown)

  • Fixed sample preview playing at the wrong pitch while browsing files. (forum t/11748, thanks @jeanvoyage)

  • Fixed zipper noise when moving the Live Loop volume fader. (forum t/5699, thanks @kulturhaus)

  • Fixed Live FX not triggering immediately after loading a saved project. Live FX fader, top-knob and bottom-knob positions now restore correctly too. (forum t/11554, thanks @dotist)

  • Fixed Copy+Pad from Bank D to other sample banks. Live Loop sources still stay within their own bank as intended. (forum t/11969, t/12125, thanks @PitchItDown and @DONDON)

  • Fixed Record Overwrite on gated or looped tracks wiping more of the pattern than intended. (forum t/12145, thanks @fatcompressor)

  • Fixed Step Program Copy+Pad on a gated note stretching an existing note’s gate to the end of the pattern. Erase+Pad and F4+Pad are fixed too. (forum t/11916, thanks @jamiehanslip)

  • Fixed Step Program clipboard paste and shift operations on gated tracks stretching notes to the end of the pattern or leaving overlapping gates behind.

  • Fixed MIDI CC messages on channel 10 being ignored for tracks mapped to channel 10. NRPN was not affected. (forum t/12073, thanks @mplayer78)

  • Fixed the Bank button changing banks while in the Sampler.

  • Fixed Bank+Pad and Bank+F-key navigation from top-row overlay screens.

  • Fixed Live FX A/B button LEDs when entering Live FX from a MIDI bank using Bank+Pad or Bank+F-key.

  • Fixed Record mode exit while playback continues, so gated notes no longer get cut short or left ringing.

  • Fixed gated sounds not always closing correctly on transport stop, song jumps and MIDI Stop.

  • Fixed Bank+Pad navigation cutting off a sustaining gated note.

  • Fixed .LFX file loads not refreshing Live FX pad LEDs and A/B button LEDs immediately.

  • Fixed Bank+Pad and Bank+F-key from a DSP Track Settings page, so the selected bank is reached in one press. Bank+F2 no longer locks the unit.

  • Fixed clicks when changing Envelope Attack, Hold, Decay and Release while notes are sounding.

  • Fixed clicks at the start and end of Multi Mode Loop/Slice slices.

  • Fixed A/B override popups so they now show which parameter was changed, for example “Filter Override On” or “Level Override Off”.

  • Improved external-clock sync when the master clock is intermittent or absent. Run/Stop can fall back to internal tempo when no clock is present, Stop works locally while slaved, and the sequencer now stops automatically if clock is lost.

Changes & New Features

  • Assign Sound now remembers each track’s last-used sample folder across save, reboot and project load. (forum t/12010, thanks @sushi2k)

  • The Sampler now behaves more like a dedicated mode. Navigation that would lose an active or buffered recording now asks for confirmation, and visual feedback has been improved during recording and review.

  • Header layout has been improved across Level, Pitch, Envelope, Loop/Slice and Multi Mode views.

  • File picker starting locations have been improved for Plugin / Preset, DSP Config, Live FX, Folder Picker and Browse Files.

  • DSP Mixer page layout now lines up more closely with the Bank Mix page.

  • Live FX pads now use clearer colours by effect family when loaded but bypassed. Engaged slots remain green, empty slots remain dark, and unavailable presses flash red.

  • F5 Loop One Bar now works on DSP Mixer Outputs, Returns/Main and Param Map pages.

  • Bank Mixer pages A-D, Live FX and DSP Mixer pages now show pattern name, length and bar boundaries under the page title.

  • Bank A-D mixer pages now show each track’s output assignment above the track number.

  • Step Edit with Multi Mode on: Erase+Pad, Copy+Pad and F4+Pad now apply to the active Multi Mode track regardless of which pad is pressed.

  • In Sampler Ready, the Rec/Edit LED now slow-pulses as an armed/waiting cue. In Sampler Review, all 8 bank pads light bright green to show a buffered recording is ready.

  • “Act Like Banks” for DSP pages is now always on. DSP Mixer and Live FX remain reachable using Bank+0 / Bank+9 on the numpad and the spare Bank+Pad positions past the last sample bank.

  • Added Shift+F2 in the Waveform Editor to toggle Shared Zoom across Multi Mode slices.

:crown: Excellent travail de suivi!

Total game changer for me. I love this.

Fantastic! Thanks Isla crew. Between this and the forthcoming Kordbot updates, you’re doing amazingly given everything else you’ve been through in the last six months.

hi,ok ive tried updating to the new firmware ,no luck at all ,seems to be stuck (its just stuck at a screen saying updating firmware please dont unplug, could be updating ,could be stuck hard to tell ),ive tried various sd cards and ive tried copying the file from my mac to the 2400 using a usb cable ….all end the same way with the unit stuck on installing the firmware ,i left the unit for 15-30 ins to see if it was just slow but it doesnt progress any ….so any ideas ,tis is a bit frustrating

Has anyone had else had a problem with their sequencer’s Internal Clock with this update? Please take a look at my bug report, if you have any information that can help.

I’m also stuck on the updating screen, I saw from previous updates to remove the side panel and make sure the components arent touching, is that still the advice?

Can you expand on this? What’s not working? What exact steps are you taking?

Boom! There’s some fixes in here I’ve been waiting for. Will test this weekend. Thanks team x

Change the file extension of the update to .upf and put it on your SD card with the machine turned off. Switch it on, wait 60 seconds or so and your machine should come back to life.

Just updated my firmware and running into a really frustrating workflow issue. After loading a sample into Track 1 and switching to Track 2 to load another sound, the sample browser resets all the way back to the root of the SD card — even though I had already navigated deep into subfolders to find a specific kit.

Before this update, the browser would stay on the last loaded sample’s location, which made building a project so much faster. Now I have to re-navigate the entire folder tree every single time I switch tracks. With a heavily nested folder structure, this is a serious time killer.

I also noticed there’s an alternative browsing method through the menu, but it doesn’t let me preview sounds by hitting the pads — and that’s a dealbreaker for me. Audition-by-playing is essential to my workflow.

Is there a setting to restore the old behavior? I really hope I’m just missing something, because this is pushing me toward rolling back to the previous firmware.

Any help appreciated!

When load a sample into loop/chop mode, activate the B button to see the sample, then hit the volume/level button to normalize the sample then click save I get a louder sample but at about 2/3rds of the way the sample gets huge and distorted/white noise.

update hotfix release now uploaded to the website downloads page.

After the update the machine is randomly failing to load samples from the SD card. I’m also experiencing an issue with midi din input from an external sequencer, it’s missing triggers, sometimes the triggers are triggering the wrong pad.

@evanoreilly32 Grab the latest May 29th fw again from the webpage or forum. Important to check the date on boot up. If it says UI: May 29th you’re good. If it’s any earlier date, download it again from the website. Should fix it.
